While the area is undergoing revitalization efforts, with new restaurants and stores coming in, it continues to have ongoing issues with delinquency and crime.
North Inner City
Like many cities around the world, the center is the most crowded and often the most dangerous. With greater crowds come greater opportunities for pickpockets to go unnoticed.
Dublin’s north inner city has some of the highest crime rates in the city. This area is also where many drug users congregate. While the area is fine during the day, I would not stay here or walk around here late at night. Stay vigilant in this part of town.
Talbot Street
This street always has unsavory characters loitering and walking around and it is best avoided. While it’s fine to walk through during the crowded daytime, I would avoid walking here at night, especially by yourself.
Parnell Street
The stretch of Parnell Street, just north of the ILAC Shopping Center, can be a bit seedy. I recommend you avoid walking around here after dark.
